MAKER 2009 is on hiatus.

Recently, the camp office Director confirmed to me that, as part of the future development of new facilities, YMCA Camp Loma Mar Rhode lodge has been officially retired. A new building is anticipated in "several years".

Since receiving this news, I have searched for other possible venues for 2009 with no success. So, I must place MAKER 2009 on hiatus. I apologize for any inconvenience and want to thank you for your support.

As you might guess, this breaks my heart. But, Phase I of MAKER is now complete.

I am proud of what we have accomplished over ten seasons. MAKER established a unique metals workshop arrangement, touched many lives, offered many opportunities and helped to make financial contributions to a number of
local, regional, state and national art organizations. We provided partial and
full scholarships as well as recognizing numerous artists and supporters in our field through the Alma Eikerman Award.

Here's to Phase II!

Sincerely,
Jack da Silva
