I created all of my curricula for Art History, 2-D design, Drawing 1&2 and for Computer Graphics. If you are an institution interested in developing your foundation classes or having me teach them, please contact me. I am available to teach privately, at your studio, and for workshops year round. If you are looking for current metals and jewelry classes in the Phoenix area, you can find a wide variety of techniques and times to choose from through the Mesa Arts Center and the Phoenix Center for the Arts. Thank you!
Spring 2010 Class Schedule at the Mesa Arts CenterPlease see the Mesa Arts Center website link above for registration information.EnamelingWednesdays 6- 9pmJanuary 20- March 10 Beginning to Advanced In this class, beginners will learn all the basics of the ancient technique of fusing ground glass to metal including metal and enamel prep, care and safety, firiing and finishing. Techniques covered include: sgraffito, stencils and painting. Other processes will be taught by request. Intermediate to advanced students may sit in on demos or work on their own projects.
Chain SamplerWednesdays 6 -9pmMarch 24- May 5 Beginning to Advanced This class is a compilation of chain techniques which I've previously taught as stand-alone classes. We will cover woven and fused link chains as well as some of the more popular link to link chain patterns such as chain mail, snake, byzantine and others. I will take requests for special patterns (ever seen something in a book but couldn't figure it out on your own?) with at least 3 weeks notice before the start of the class. We will also cover making jumprings, catches and end caps and proper finishing techniques for chains. I will provide kits for the link to link portion of the class for people who don't want to make their own.
I will also be teaching at Arrowmont in August. Check back for details.
